In 2016 Peter Brown painted in Florence with nine fellow artists. They captured the rich layers that Florence has to offer and life scenes around the Duomo, in Piazza della Signoria and on the Ponte Vecchio as well as exploring the city’s less famous streets.
Peter chose Florence for its classical art and superb Renaissance architecture. Although most of the famous sights are north of the Arno River, time was spent painting the lesser known streets in the area to the south known as the Oltrarno.
Central accommodation on the banks of the River Arno provided easy access to all the key sites and best vantage points for painting Florence.
The great masters in the Galleria degli Uffizi include those of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli and Caravaggio. Michelangelo’s David can be seen in the Galleria dell’Accademia.
